Interrail Central Europe Route contains some of the best attractions in Europe and includes Paris. Brussels, Bruges, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Krakow, Ljubljana, Innsbruck, Vienna, Luzern, Bern.
The suggested duration for this interrail route is 30 days. This depends on the amount of museums you visit and the duration of your stays in each city. Feel free to change this route anyway you want.
Note: You should begin this route in the city that more suits to your starting country. In this guide we will start the interrail in Paris.
1st and 2nd days. The first interrail days are usually used for travelling from your country to the first interrail city.
3rd day. Begin your first day in Paris with the Louvre Museum after take a walk in Champs-Élysées.
4th day. If you didn’t visit Champs-Élysées it’s your chance to do it and after go to the Arc-de-Triomphe. For your Afternoon visit the d’Orsay Museum and end your day with the Eiffel Tower.
5th day. Enjoy your last day im Paris begin by visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral, after walk to Centre Pompidou. End your day with Sacre Coeur and Le Moulin Rouge.
6th day. Wake early and take the train to Bruges. Take a walk in Bruges Historic Center and Market. After go in one of the cannal boat tours. End your day with Basilica of the Holy Blood and Church of Our Lady.
7th day. Take the train to Brussels, once there go to Grand Palace, after check out Manneken Pis. After visit Musical Instruments Museum and Notre Dame du Sablon.
8th day. Begin with visiting Mini Europe and after head to the Atomium. Take the train to Amsterdam.
9th day. Start your day with a canal boat trip, After go and visit Anne Frank House. End your day by visiting the Dam Square.
10th day. Begin your day with Rijksmuseum. After have lunch and take walk at Vondelpark. Finish by visiting Van Gogh Museum. Take the night train connections to Berlin.
11th day. You should stay in Berlin for at least 2 days. If you arrive early in Berlin, go the Parliament building in order to avoid queues otherwise save it for the second day, on top enjoy Berlins landscape, after head to the Brandenburg Gate. If you have the energy go by walk to Alexanderplatz and do some sightseeing. End your day by visiting Charlies Checkpoint and some of Berlins Wall.
12th day. Head to the Charlottenburg Palace, after go to Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. In the afternoon go to the Zoo Station and visit the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche, you can also visit Berlins Zoo. Take the train to Dresden.
13th day. Begin yoir day with by visiting Frauenkirche Cathedral, after visit Zwinger and its Green Vault. End your day by visiting Bruehl Terrace. Take the night train connections to Krakow.
14th day. Ask in your hostel or in the train station for tour groups for Wieliczka Salt Mine and to Auschwitz Camps. Depending on the time of the tour to the Wieliczka Salt Mine begin your first day with Oskar Schindler’s Factory or Wieliczka Salt Mine.
15th day. Begin your day with Main Market Square and Church of the Virgin Mary (Kosciol Mariacki).
16th day. Go and visit Wawel Royal Castle and also check Wawel Cathedral and Wawel Dragon. If you have time visit Jewish District.
17th day. Take the tour to Auschwitz Camps if you have some time after take the night train to Vienna.
18th day. Considering you took the night train you should arrive around 7 and 8 in the morning, Visit the Schonbrunn Palace and it’s garden. Afterwards head to the Stephansplatz and enter in the St. Stephen’s Cathedral. End your day with some sightseeing around Vienna downtown.
19th day. Get off bed early and go to the Hofburg Palace, there you can visit the Imperial Apartments and Sisi Museum. Take the night train to Ljubljana.
20th day. Head to Ljubljana’s Main Square first and also check Triple Bridge and Ljubljana Castle.
21th day. Take the train to Innsbruck. Once there buy a Innsbruck 48 hour card. If it is a good day go up in the funicular and one of the cable cars. On your way down visit AlpenZoo. If you still have some time left check The Golden Roof.
22th day. Take the free shuttle bus to Swarovski Crystal Worlds. After check out Schloss Ambras. End your day by taking the train to Munich.
23th day. Head to Marienplatz on your way check out St. Peter’s Church after go to Deutsches Museum. On your way back visit Asam’s Church.
24th day. Take the train to Fussen. Take one of the bus to Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein Castles also check Mary’s Bridge. Take the train back to Munich.
25th day. Take the train to Luzern, if you have any time left take a walk in Luzern lake.
26th day. Make your way up to Mount Pilatus and enjoy the landscape views, after visit Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrucke) and Dying Lion of Lucerne Monument
29th and 30th day. The last two interrail days are usually spent returning to your country, if you have some extra money you can return by plane and enjoy the last days however you want.
